Shanita is an New York licensed attorney and financial literacy educator. At 12-years-old, she noticed a financial deficit in her home. She saved money to purchase financial education books to teach herself money principles since they were not being taught at home or school. She began to study and understand the money mistakes made by previous generations in her family so she could avoid them in the future. She decided that living paycheck to paycheck, mismanaging money, owning more liabilities than assets, and not leaving a legacy would end with her.
After years of self-education, she later went to work for a small financial consulting firm, where she helped individuals develop creative ways to manage and protect their assets. During her tenure there, she was both amazed and furious to find out how much she still did not know about wealth creation. It frustrated her that she didn’t learn basic financial principles at home, in church, nor in school. Her passion quickly went from simply wanting to learn as much as she could to wanting to share as much as she learned. Now she uses her life experiences, education, and training to arm people with the information necessary to make smart and informed financial decisions. .
